I am a visiting researcher with the Genesis group while on leave from my position as an assistant professor in the Department of Computer Science at Smith College. I will spend the 2019-2020 academic year at MIT CSAIL as part of the MIT Martin Luther King, Jr. Visiting Professors and Scholars Program.

My research is focused on building and studying intelligent computing systems that demonstrate a human-like capability for in-depth understanding and production of natural language, and thus can achieve richer interactions with human users.
